What is the Rounding Calculator Online Tool?

The rounding calculator online tool enables you to instantly get rounded values of numbers that you add as inputs. You can add the numbers directly to the input box or upload a text file with the number data. You can use the tool absolutely free on the BetterBugs.io website.

You can tweak the tool for various output types. For outputs, you can specify the number of decimal values to keep and also add a thousands separator. There’s also an option (Unique only) to avoid duplicate values in the output.

Here’s a quick overview of the rounding Modes available:

  • Round (Half Up): Halfway values round up to the next value.​ Example, 1.235 with 2 decimals rounds to 1.24.
  • Round (Half Down): Halfway values round down to the lower value.​ Example, 1.235 with 2 decimals rounds to 1.23.
  • Round (Bankers): Bankers Rounds to the nearest even number when a value is exactly halfway between two possible numbers and uses standard rounding for all other cases. This helps reduce rounding bias. It's also called Gaussian rounding​. For instance, 1.27456 rounds to 1. For 1.27456 with 2 decimal places, with this option, you’d get 1.27 as output.
  • Ceil: Always rounds numbers up toward positive infinity (2.1 → 3, -2.1 → -2).
  • Floor: Always rounds numbers down toward negative infinity (2.9 → 2, -2.1 → -3).
  • Truncate: Cuts off digits after the chosen decimal place without rounding (2.999 with 2 decimals → 2.99).

With the Ceil and Floor Modes, you can also specify the “Step”. Here’s an example of how the output looks like with “Steps” enabled:

How to use the tool

Here’re the steps to use it

Auto Update: Select this option to auto-convert the input number data instantly and show output based on pre-selected fields. If you select this, you do not have to manually press the “Calculate” button.
Step 1: Select the output mode:
  • Round (Half Up)
  • Round (Half Down)
  • Round (Bankers)
  • Ceil
  • Floor
  • Truncate
Step 2: Add input dataYou can paste numbers data directly to the input box. Or, if you have a text file with the data, you can use the “Upload” button for it.
Step 3: Click “Calculate” for the outputYou’ve the “Copy” button to use the output. To download output to your system as a text file, use the “Download” button.
